What is the Parent Council?

It has been the aim of the Council to encourage parents/carers to work in partnership with other members of the Council, to contribute to the development of educational opportunities and provision for pupils and to consider all aspects of school life, including links with the wider community.

Who can attend?

Parents/carers are welcome from every age group represented at the school from year 7 through to year 11. Currently the Council includes representatives of the teaching and administrative staff as well as the Governors.

How often does it meet?

The first Parent Council was held in the spring term of 2014 and since then meetings have been held twice a term. Twice a year an open Parent Forum is held and any parent/carer is welcome to come along, learn more about the work of the Council and discuss any issues that they may have in relation to the school.  

What are the aims of the Parent Council?

The aims of the Council include the following:

l To support the school in their mission to development of the whole child.

l To help to develop opportunities for all pupils.

l To celebrate success within the school and the wider community.

l To promote and facilitate parental/carer support of pupils’ learning.

l To provide feedback to the school and parent/carers (school website; termly school newsletter) 

      about the outcome of Council meetings.
