Our Curriculum
Learning is paramount.
Learning is our overriding priority. Through our broad curriculum we strive to provide a stimulating educational experience for every student. We encourage our students to reflect and learn from the past, seek challenges and questions from the world around them and articulate and express their thoughts and ideas effectively.
Showing pupils that learning is for life, our experienced teachers engage in many opportunities for professional development, including further study at Masters’ degree level. Our teachers demonstrate a real passion to help students achieve, while building
positive relationships with them. Through the use of challenging targets, rigorous monitoring of progress and swift intervention when required, we ensure that students of all abilities translate their potential into achievement.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. In addition to core subjects (English, Maths, RE, Science, Welsh and PE), Key Stage 3 students explore the creative arts, IT, humanities and follow a St Richard Gwyn Baccalaureate that helps to develop skills and their ability to make informed life choices.
Our Key Stage 4 courses offer a wide range of opportunities that further develop the curriculum from Key Stage 3. There are also new subjects available suitable for a wide.
